The New House

I know that it is very unusual for me to post twice in the same week OR month, but I've got to get these posts out of the way so that when to new baby comes, I can dedicate some posts to him without feeling like I have to catch people up on the other parts of our life.

We completed construction and moved into our new house around May 28th. In summary, the project cost more, and required a whole lot more emotional energy then I expected it to. I am very glad that we bought and finished it, but I'm not sure I would have said the same thing at the end of May.

Now that we have lived here a month I am really starting to like being a homeowner. I never knew there could be so much satisfaction associated with washing windows, cleaning the hardwood floor, and staining the deck. House and yard work takes on a whole new feeling when it is contributing to something you own! However, with time, I'm sure the "new car smell" will wear off and house work will just be soap and water like it used to be.

Enjoy the pictures!

Summer Fun!

We are about one weeks into one of the hottest summers in Arkansas history (average of about 100 degrees with 65%+ humidity). Here are some pictures of what we have been doing to stay sane. (Some would argue that going to the zoo for six hours while 8+ month pregnant in 105 degree weather is not sane . . . and some would be right!).

This first picture is of Parker holding a count-down-chain that Laura helped him make. He has been using it to count down the days until Baby Brother arrives (only 3 weeks left - or less we hope!). The rest of the pictures were taken at the Rogers City Pool and Tulsa Zoo.
